An example from our own content marketing blog is a recent article titled ‘2018 Social Media Trends, Updates and Tips‘ where we gave our audience 20 of the most important social media updates to happen in 2018 so far. Many people might be hesitant to give this kind of information away for free – if we provide social media management services, then aren’t we essentially writing ourselves out of a job by providing people with all of the information that they need to manage their own social media accounts?

We pretty much covered this already, but content marketing is important for building relationships with your audience. You are using content marketing to amass an audience of people who are receptive towards hearing your sales pitch. Think of it this way: if you gave your sales pitch to a random person off the street, someone who has no idea who you are and has never heard of your brand or service before, how likely are they to convert?

What about if you pitched your product or service to an acquaintance? A friend of a friend? They are more likely to listen and convert because they know who you are and they trust you. Even if they don’t know you very well, they know you more than they know you competitor so they will likely choose your service over theirs.

We use content marketing to draw people in who we know are interested in our industry by providing ‘nice’ content for them to consume. As we provide them with more and more content, we are building a stronger relationship with them – building good-will – so that eventually, when you do start promoting your services to them, they are more receptive and you have an audience that is qualified rather than promoting to a cold audience who has never heard of you.

This is why we are not worried about giving away some of our social media marketing knowledge for free – because our audience will use these tools to start managing their own social media accounts, and they will start to get better results and traction. And they will associate those good results with the BeKonstructive brand, which in turn will result in two things happening:
