Volta Aid Foundation Website Re-Design
BeKonstructive recently had the privilege of working on a complete website re-design for Volta Aid Foundation, a Brisbane-based not-for-profit supporting the struggling Volta region in Ghana.
Since their establishment in 2010, Volta Aid has provided numerous education, health and infrastructure projects for the Volta region. While their original website was sufficient for their humble beginnings, it was seven years old and in dire need of a refresh.
BeKonstructive Marketing have been strong supporters of Volta Aid Foundation and their fundraising efforts over the years. In fact Bek Drayton, the founder of BeKonstructive Marketing, has participated in Tough Mudder, fundraising under the Volta Aid name.
Volta Aid’s original website was formed in the infancy of the charity, when they were just finding their footing. Since their establishment, volunteers of Volta Aid have participated in many appeals and programs within the Volta region of Ghana, directing their efforts towards specific goals. Their new website had to quickly make users aware of Volta’s current causes and appeals, whilst also improving on the functionality, design and security of their previous website.
In a creative capacity, we first helped Volta Aid earlier in the year, creating the concept for a promotional banner stand design for use at events, collaborating with a local design artist Irena Clair.
From the get go, we knew the website re-design would need to look professional, attracting donations from community groups and citizens, while being easy to navigate and simple to update, as Volta continuously runs new campaigns and appeals to support their worthy causes.
Volta Aid’s new website used a simple template design to match their branding, with a white background to contrast and add effect to the striking images. It was constructed on the WordPress platform, giving the Volta team the ability to easily update their website as they reach their goals and set new ones. After the website was designed and copy text was added, we made efforts to attract new supporters with specialised SEO techniques.
